Buffalo Soldier- Bob Marley

Bob Marley is a good specimen for those who are interested in the colonial studies.

Even though he belongs to Jamaica, which is an island country  situated in the Caribbean Sea, he identified himself as a black African.
 He is a singer and a good song writer too. His songs have tried to reverberate the tyranny faced by the blacks or Africans due to the Western oppression.
The song genre Reggae was widely spread by him
Was married to Rita.

Have 11 children, (2) with Rita and others in many other women. Very interesting.

Joined with Bunny Wailer and created splendid albums.

 

Some of his albums are The Wailing Wailers (1965), Soul Rebels (1970),Soul Revolution (1971), Catch a Fire (1973), Kaya (1978), Survival (1979).

Birthday - 06 Feb 1945

My favorite song is Buffalo Soldier from the album Survival. This song was released posthumously.

His real name was Nesta Robert Marley. Died in 1981. His albums have been sold millions and billion copies.

Trivial fact -  Once he was injured by a gunmen, actually tried to assassinate Bob, he was seriously injured, yet after two days, with his injury he performed on a scheduled day. Isn't it that fantastic! Certainly I would have taken rest if it was me. That's what makes him different and unique. A blessed performer, singer.
