Richie Rich
I am pleased and happy when i hear my people at home and some relatives addressing my pet with his name Richie. It was a tedious thing to repeatedly correct them when they call richie "Patti", i ask them at least to call or refer him 'Naaya' as he is a male dog and not female dog or bitch (Patti).
Feeling awkward? Don't be.
We malayalies some how use these words daily.
If you want to amuse kids or any one, at least refer dogs as BOW BOW and not patti.
Doesn't they too deserve some dignity.
Now the new assistant to my mum and the old caretaker of my home also call richie, very sweetly, that it just imbues my heart and ears even though i felt that bit awful first. They call richie now 'Kunjhi Kanna'. Whatever it is so better than 'Patti'.
Richie must have been so fortunate to have these good names, and also my noodles and ice creams.
My best friends, some dear and near know that i become Nagavali or Kali, if i see them throw stones or do any kind of harm to animals, or talking about them with contempt.
Also do not discriminate and classify pets to their breeds, or lower-higher. Never.
Richie has turned 3 years old the last month and he is guarding my home efficiently.
Even if you call any dog 'Patti', do not call my pet dog that, Call him Richie.
