A Letter to Kailash Satyarthi
Hi
Happy to know how your endeavors were acknowledged by the world.
I have been empathetic and considerate about children, animals and the old. All of their eyes speak the same language of helplessness and incapability to do what the majority do.
Few years back, I had gone with few friends on behalf of a students organisation to a juvenile home at Viyoor, Thrissur, Kerala.
From that visit we got to know that most of the children accommodated there were not put by the court for indulging in wrong actions. They grow up with those kids who had done wrong, these innocents would be looked as if they are theives. This could hamper their personality development. There were kids who got lost from families. Why arent much efforts done to get back to their families, or provide better abode far from the central jail. The authorities claim to look after them well. To what extend can we believe them. One child whose family is in Tamil nadu still misses his family and cried when I had small chat with him. I asked him who was his favourite Tamil actor, he replied my question with sobs and narratated how he had enjoyed his movies along with his family. I really had wanted to find his family. I still don't know if any are alive. This is of one boy. If people knew there are plenty of kids in juvenile homes who don't have good clothes or stationery to go to school, rich and affluent people must be persuaded to donate for their welfare. With your abundant exposure to several situations, and your position, I hope you will voice for them too. If you had, forgive my ignorance.
